About

I am first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ. A sinner saved by His amazing grace.  I love Jesus because He first loved me and have been saved from God’s wrath only by His sovereign grace. I find myself wanting to find more and more ways to tell others about Christ and feel this blog may just be one of them. I am Reformed in my theology and hold to the Westminster Standards.

My King saved me – a wretched sinner – by His grace. For over 20 years of my life I walked around thinking I was saved because I repeated a prayer and was baptized. You see, I was putting my faith in repeating a prayer and something I was doing, not in Christ and His finished work. For more than twenty years I was a nominal Christian – a false convert. Sadly, because of the plague of easy-believism and a watered-down gospel, I am not alone in that statistic.

The Lord then graciously transformed my heart of stone to a heart of flesh and opened my eyes to His glory. By His sovereign grace, my eyes were opened to my utter sinfulness and my hopelessness on my own.  Through the gift of faith and repentance, I trust only in the person and work of Christ for my salvation and now belong to Him. It is all by His grace and for His glory.

I desire to be conformed more and more into the image of Jesus Christ and desire to know Him more and more and to make Him known!  I’m definitely a work in progress, as all believers are. Simul Iustus et Peccator. (Simultaneously justified and sinner.) Sometimes I feel like it’s one step forward, two steps back in my Christian walk and battle with sin, but the glorious thing is that Christ is in me by His grace conforming me more into His image through the power of His Holy Spirit. Amazing grace how sweet the sound!

I’m no theologian and like all believers, I am learning and growing in my walk. I encourage you to send edifications (and encouragements) as you read through these articles. We are to build one another up in the Lord and that often involves  grace-filled correction when necessary.

Soli Deo Gloria! (Glory to God Alone!)
